Shows

All our Shows are aimed at the novice rider - or the novice horse/pony! - and those who want to improve on their basic riding.

The majority of our ridden and in hand showing shows, together with our show jumping shows are qualifiers for The Masters show in September, but you must be a member to qualify.

Please NO BD, BSJA or BE registered horses or ponies – in any class or show.

We have introduced a generic Entry Form this year, to be used for any of the events below:

Open Winter Woollies Showing Show

Open Unaffiliated Show Jumping Show

New for 2012 will be two jumping rings.  One for the more inexperienced with lower and easier courses, and one for the more experienced with a slightly harder course and higher fences.

Open Novice Showing

In Hand and Ridden Classes. All classes are qualifiers for the Masters Show, but remember that you must be a member and gain a 1st to 6th place to qualify.

Open Unaffiliated Dressage Show

Walk and Trot plus preliminary and novice tests. Some of our competitors are progressing nicely, and we do not want to lose them; they do not feel ready to venture further so we are aiming to help them in their training.

BRC Annual Novice Show

Not sure what to do? Limited time? Money begining to be a bit short? Well why not come along to our annual Novice Show where we will be holding show jumping, in hand showing and ridden showing all on one day? That way you can try a bit of each of the different sections in one outing!

It might sound like a big show, and a bit more than you want to do, but be assured that it is still the same low-key fun day that you would expect from Braintree Riding Club, together with super rosettes and to the supreme and reserve supreme champions of the day, lovely rugs!

Yes, we may have sponsored classes or rings and, yes, we may have judges from around the country, but each and every one involved in the show wants you to have a good time and will give you useful tips if you should need them.

Our show in August 2010 and again in 2011 saw over 100 horses taking part. It was a fantastic day and everyone enjoyed themselves.

The Masters

Come and have some fun at the end of the season with Showing, Show Jumping and Dressage. Look out for dates for the Dressage Master Show. Remember that you have to be members and need to gain a 1st to 6th place to qualify for this show.

Mini One Day Event

Again to be held at Stratford Hills in 2012.  We are hoping that this year we will be able to have the results produced electronically, so that we don’t run out of daylight! Classes are suitable for all.

Introduction to Novice Hunter Trials – new last year

This event proved to be extremely popular last year.  The spooky Halloween fence, which we expected to cause a few problems, caused none at all!! How spooky was that! Look out for it this year!
