All our events are aimed at the novice rider - or the novice horse/pony! - and those who want to improve on their basic riding.

BRC Annual Novice Show
Not sure what to do? Limited time? Money begining to be a bit short? Well why not come along to a Novice Show where we will be holding show jumping, dressage, in hand showing and ridden showing all on one day? That way you can try a bit of each of the different sections in one outing!
It might sound like a big show, and a bit more than you want to do, but be assured that it is still the same low-key fun day that you would expect from Braintree Riding Club.
Yes, we may have sponsored classes or rings and, yes, we may have judges from around the country, but each and every one involved in the show wants you to have a good time and will give you useful tips if you should need them.
Our show in August 2009 saw over 100 horses taking part. It was a fantastic day and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Dressage Show
Walk and Trot plus preliminary and novice tests. Some of our Members are progressing nicely, and we do not want to lose them; they do not feel ready to venture further so we are aiming to help them in their training.
Please... no British Dressage registered horses or ponies.

Very different Competitions!
Come and try maybe your first ever dressage or show jumping competition and learn how to do better all in one go! And have fun at the same time.
You ride your chosen dressage test/course of jumps and discuss the results with the judge. You will be given advice on how to improve your performance and gain a few more marks next time. And even have another go at some of the course.
